It's gift time!

Today marks the 33rd birthday of a dear friend of mine.  To celebrate, I thought I would make her a homemade gift, straight from the heart.  I recently saw a recipe online for a homemade hand scrub so I thought I would give it a try.  I don't want to downplay my gift, but this was super simple, and inexpensive as well.  I also made her a card to celebrate the day...
I absolutely love making homemade cards and gifts.  I think they add such a personal touch to whatever gift, or note you are writing.  Here I am working feverishly on the tag for the hand scrub...

Isn't it pretty?!?!? The hand scrub was really simple to make.  I literally threw 5 ingredients in a bowl, mixed, and put the mixtures into a canning jar.  For the recipe, please visit this wonderful blog where I got the idea from in the first place - http://www.goodlifeeats.com/2009/03/all-natural-moisturizing-kitchen-hand-scrub.html .

Here is another look at the card I made to go along with it.  My friend loves purple.

Happy scrubbing!

  2. Lindsay,
I am loving this idea! I have a couple of coworkers that I typically try to find inexpensive, but not cheapy-looking, gifts for Christmas...and this might just be the answer to my prayers!!! Thanks for the great ideas. Keep 'em coming!
